Dumpster Rental FAQ

The questions we get asked most often, answered plainly. If yours is not here, call (518) 742-7908 and ask.

How much does a dumpster rental cost in Hudson Falls?

Pricing is quoted per job. Call for a straightforward quote for your address and debris type. The quote reflects the container size, what you are throwing away, the weight of the load, how long you keep it and how easy the site is to reach.

What size dumpster do I need?

Single rooms, small demolition and any dense material go in a 10 yard. Basements, attics and decks usually fit a 15 yard. Whole-house cleanouts and roof tear-offs typically use a 20 yard, and construction or demolition work is where a 30 yard makes sense.

How long can I keep the dumpster?

Rental periods are arranged when you book — ask us what works for your project timeline.

Can a dumpster be placed in my driveway?

Yes — driveway placement is the standard setup for residential jobs. We ask about the surface, slope, overhead wires and approach so the container is set squarely, and we place protection under it where the surface calls for it.

What can I put in a dumpster?

General household junk, furniture, construction and demolition debris, flooring, roofing material, yard debris, scrap metal and heavy material such as concrete or brick when it is kept in a dedicated small container.

What can't go in a dumpster?

Hazardous waste, chemicals, liquid paint, solvents, fuel and oil, propane tanks, asbestos-containing material, tires, vehicle batteries, medical waste, contaminated soil, and appliances containing refrigerant. Mattresses, electronics and lithium batteries are generally handled separately.

How much can I put in the dumpster?

Fill it level with the top rail — an overfilled container cannot be safely tarped or hauled, and the pickup will be delayed until it is corrected. Weight allowance is confirmed at the time of booking based on the size you choose and the type of debris.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster?

A container placed entirely on your own property normally does not require a permit. If the only workable spot is the street or a village right-of-way, that is a municipal decision — check with the Village of Hudson Falls before scheduling delivery and let us know what they require.

How quickly can a dumpster be delivered?

It depends on the day and what is already on the schedule. Call and we will tell you honestly what is available; same-week delivery is common and we confirm a window when you book.

What happens if my debris is heavier than expected?

Tell us as soon as you realize it. Disposal is billed by weight, so a heavier load costs more, and a container that exceeds what can be legally hauled has to be partially offloaded before pickup. The way to avoid both is to describe the material accurately when you book — especially concrete, dirt, tile, plaster and shingles.

Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?

Not usually, as long as the placement spot is clear and clearly marked and the driver has unobstructed access. If the spot is at all ambiguous, being there for the drop is worth it.

Will the dumpster damage my driveway?

Roll-off containers are heavy and the load concentrates on the rails, so care matters. We place protection under the container where the surface calls for it. Tell us in advance if the driveway is newly paved or sealed, or if it is pavers — that may change where we recommend placing it.

Can I add more to the container after I call for pickup?

Call us before you keep loading. Once a pickup is scheduled the container is expected to be ready to haul, and adding material after that can push the load over what can legally be transported.

Do you also do junk removal?

Yes — Clean It Out Containers & Junk Removal handles junk removal as well as container rental. If you would rather have the work done than do the loading yourself, mention it when you call and we will talk through which approach fits.
