Remodeling Dumpster Rental in Hudson Falls, NY

Remodels produce debris in waves — demo first, then packaging and offcuts throughout. The container has to match both the volume and the timeline.

Kitchen remodels

A kitchen tear-out generates cabinets, countertops, appliances, flooring and often a layer of subfloor. Cabinets are the volume driver — an intact upper takes far more space in a container than the same cabinet knocked apart. Break them down as they come off the wall and the load shrinks by a third.

The variable that changes the sizing is the floor. Vinyl and laminate add little. Tile, mortar bed and any old layers underneath add real weight. A kitchen without a tile floor often fits a 15 yard; with one, plan on a 20 yard or a separate small container for the dense material.

Bathroom remodels

Bathrooms are small in area but heavy in material: cast-iron tub, tile, mortar, plaster and a vanity. A full bath gut usually fits a 10 yard container comfortably, and the 10 yard is the right call precisely because the debris is dense.

Whole-floor and multi-room renovations

Once the project crosses several rooms — flooring throughout, drywall, trim, doors, maybe a wall coming out — a 20 yard is the practical baseline, and a 30 yard makes sense on gut jobs where the alternative is two hauls of the smaller box.

Older homes: what to expect

A lot of Hudson Falls housing predates modern construction methods, and remodels there tend to uncover plaster and lath rather than drywall. Plaster is dense and dusty, and it fills weight capacity quickly. Homes of that age may also contain materials that require professional testing and licensed handling before demolition — that is a decision for you and your contractor, and those materials do not go in a roll-off container.

Phasing the haul

On a longer remodel, it is often better to take the container during the demo phase, have it hauled, and bring another back for the finish phase, rather than paying to have a box sit half full for weeks. Talk through the schedule when you book and we will arrange the timing.

What cannot go in

Paint, stains, solvents, adhesives with liquid remaining, fuel, and refrigerant-bearing appliances all have to be handled separately from remodel debris. See what can and cannot go in a dumpster.
